Hydrogen

About Hydrogen

Is Hydrogen safe for my body?
Hydrogen is the most abundant chemical element, constituting roughly 75% of the universe's elemental mass and also forms part of the human body. Hydrogen is an essential element in all food categories, including grains, meats, fish, water. So the answer is YES, hydrogen is essential and safe for your body.
What is Oxidation?
Oxidation is defined as the interaction between oxygen molecules and all the different substances they may contact, from metal to living tissue. Technically, oxidation came to be more precisely defined as the loss of at least one electron when two or more substances interact. Those substances may or may not include oxygen. (Incidentally, the opposite of oxidation is reduction — the addition of at least one electron when substances come into contact with each other.) We typically associate oxidation with rust, for example when iron combines with oxygen, rust is one of the chemical reactions of oxidation. Another example is in the case of fresh fruit, the skin usually provides a barrier against oxidation. Once the skin has been broken, however, the individual cells come in direct contact with air and the oxygen molecules start burning them. The result is a form of oxidation when the fruit starts to develop brownish spots or blemishes.
Can hydroxyl radical turn into water?
Typically, hydrogen combines with oxygen to form water. In the body, hydrogen reacts with two harmful ROS (hydroxyl radical), resulting in the chemical reaction of 2 water molecules (2H2O). So the answer is Yes, with the addition of Hydrogen, hydroxyl radical can be neutralized to water.
Why does Hydrogen have such a strong restoration power?
Hydrogen is the lightest and smallest element. Due to its small size, hydrogen easily travels throughout the body. It can pass through cell membrane, reaching even to mitochondrion and cell core. Inside the cell, Hydrogen will “lend” its electrons to the free radicals, i.e. adding electrons to the hydroxyl radicals, neutralizing its harmful effects.
Does the body have difficulty absorbing hydrogen because it is a gas?
There is a method of saturating hydrogen with water. Nevertheless, no matter how much hydrogen is dissolved in water, the maximum reachable is 0.125ppm=0.0000125%; and the hydrogen evaporates immediately. On the other hand, using our latest technology, hydrogen can be released constantly for an extended period of 7 to 8 hours in the body.
